Why Do Women Struggle To Find Love Over Age 50?

As I thumbed through the pages of dating websites at age 52, I marveled at the options, so many choices but no love connections. All of the usual places: church, supermarket, gym... are not working either. It is not easy. I spoke to several single women over age 50, and they all have similar experiences. This is difficult, but, these are the struggles women 50 and older face looking for love. During an interview with a group of men over age 50 on an episode of 2nd Act TV, the men described themselves as simple and women as complicated. They wanted us to know that their thoughts are not that deep, and we don't have to overthink or read anything more than what they say. So, there you have it.

Many of us face insecurities that have impacted past relationships leading to divorces, and break-ups. We struggle to heal from these insecurities, and they are often ushered into future relationships. This leads to the real challenge for women over age 50, and that is loving ourselves. Self-love, it’s not just taking care of yourself, but it’s loving yourself completely, especially the parts that are hard to love. That’s because the love we seek must come from within. If we can accomplish this, we will truly have love after 50 and beyond!
